Southend Airport was bought by the Stobart Group in 2008, and in March 2012 started to operate as London Southend Airport after extensive expansion.

The Stobart Group is more than just a transportation company, which most of us would believe because of the successful TV show.
It's business includes areas of Biomass energy, port ownership, railway maintenance, property and logistics, Rally team sponsorship, as well as owning Carlisle Lake District Airport.

Unfortunately Eddie Stobart himself never got to see his international Southend Airport dream come true, as he died on 31st March 2011, aged just 56.

In the 1960's, Southend Airport was the UK's third busiest Airport before Stansted took over this position in the early 1970's.

April 2015 ...

Thanks to all your feedback our staff are very happy to hear their efforts to offer you a great service are appreciated but we are also aware that those without a Sat Nav are finding the signage to our Car Park is not as good as it could be, so we are working on some new signs and are in discussions with property owners to place signs on route from the A127. Thank you all.

Wow, what a year 2015 is turning out to be. We've just received two new awards and all within 4 months of opening our new premises for Southend Airport Parking.

A Park Mark Award and a Buy With Confidence Award. Both of these mean we have met the tough standards required by Essex County Council, Essex Police and the British Parking Association (which we are members of).

October 2014 ...

We have moved the car park to a new address, not only are we STILL the closest offsite car park to the Southend Airport terminal* instead of it being a 5 minute transfer for Park and Ride it is now 3 - 4 minutes transfer time for Park and Ride. This is less than the time it takes to walk from some of the on-site car parks!
